Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrated with International Students of Haikou University of Economics
Haikou University of Economics held a wonderful event to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with international students in the Communication Building on September 13th. Students from Germany, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand and other countries, as well as student representatives and the school leaders, a total of more than 100 people participated in the event.
The international students are from different countries with different nationalities, but the Mid-Autumn Festival shows no national boundary. It does not matter where you come from, we only speak one common language, which belongs to the party. At the party, students cheered and danced to appreciate the cultural diversities that raised us. There were programmes featuring Chinese traditional culture such as Erhu solo, Chinese traditional costume display, calligraphy, lantern making, and songs brought by Chinese students. Students from Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand also showcased their dance to celebrate the festival.
After the event, German students and Chinese students exchanged gifts and took a group photo. The students were very happy with lanterns with Chinese knots made by themselves. The event concluded, but the culture exchange is and will be still on at any time. To this end, Haikou University of Economics will adhere to the spirit of Silk Road, and continue to expand our communication all around the world with an even more open and inclusive attitude. We hope that more international students can join us and search for more possibilities of communication.
