The Third "Belt and Road" Forum on Education Cooperation with ASEAN Countries Successfully Held
The Third "Belt and Road" Forum on Education Cooperation with ASEAN Countries was successfully held by Haikou University of Economics on 23rd October. This Forum is organized by ASEAN Studies Institute, and supported by the Hainan Provincial Department of Education and other government departments. Nearly 50 representatives from sister universities and related institutions from 10 countries gathered in HUE in an effort to deepen the exchanges and cooperation in education, culture and economics among countries along the “Belt and Road” region. More than 300 HUE teachers and students attended the conference.
At the opening ceremony, the representatives delivered speeches expressing good wishes for the Forum. Expectations for friendly cooperation and exchanges among countries and universities, and new views on future education cooperation and development were shared in their speeches and discussions. In the Forum, 13 Chinese and foreign experts and scholars gave keynote reports in the conference (foreign representatives participated in the meeting with their video speeches). The reports focus on how to develop new models of international exchanges and cooperation of higher education, and how to meet social needs, and the current situation of exchanges between universities of China and Southeast Asian countries.
