The 5th Belt and Road Forum on Education Cooperation with ASEAN Countries held in HUE.
The 5th Belt and Road Forum on Education Cooperation with ASEAN Countries ,on April 21th,has come to a successful end. Scholars and officials from various universities both home and abroad have given their kind presence at the conference and delivered speeches on the theme of education cooperation among universities of China and ASEAN as well as Belt and Road countries. The Forum is supported by ASEAN-China Centre, Education Department and Foreign Affairs Department of Hainan Province.
The Forum has achieved what we have expected after active presentations and discussions. Delegates have made concentrated research into the following aspects of international exchange, academic research, personnel training and further development of the forum.
Regarding international exchange and cooperation among universities, Dr. Zhu Huayou, HUE Executive President, points out that Haikou University of Economics continuously consolidates the links with ASEAN, Japanese and Korean universities, in order to push up international cooperation to a new height. Prof. Guo Yuanyuan of Capital University of Economics and Business brings to us the idea how to grasp the new opportunity of international higher education in the opening up environment. Prof. Zhu Fangming of Sichuan University and Prof. Zhao Xicang of Jiangsu University Jingjiang College all refer to the importance of internationalization of education and the benefits in the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.
Both Prof. Mahadevan of Perdana University and Mr. Jimmy Lim of Northern Kuala Lumpur International Group share with us exchange and cooperation between Malaysia and China in the field of higher education.
Our delegates also talk about academic research. Dr. Huang Jianli of NUS gives us information of Southeast Asian studies and lists NUS as the best learning venue for Chinese scholars and students. As the economy of China is playing more important role in the world economic scene, more and more countries begin to pay attention to Chinese language learning. Prof. Chung Juyoun of Dongseuo University of Korea, Prof. Duong of VNUHCM-University of Social Sciences and Humanities of Vietnam and Prof. Liem Yingying of Binus University of Indonesia enable us to know more about Chinese teaching and learning in their respective schools. Danai Chotseang and Dr. Patipan Kittinanthawat of Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University of Thailand explain to us the achievements in the field of academic and social research.
Regarding personnel training, Prof. Wu Bo of China Foreign Affairs University emphasizes the importance of the new requirements for internationalization personnel training under the Belt and Road initiative.
As for the evaluation and expectation of the Forum, Chairman of China Society of Singapore Madame Aileen Tan says, now in its 5th year, it augurs very well for information sharing and stimulation in the field of Education between Southeast Asian countries and China. Such comparative exchanges and dialogue will lead to greater benefits and uplifting in the field of education of the participating countries.
Haikou University of Economics keeps holding this Belt and Road Forum on Education Cooperation with ASEAN Countries since 2018.
